2008/2009 School Year Begins Aug. 25

Teachers begin working August 18 with students reporting for their first day of school August 25. Parents should be aware that lunches have increased to $2.25 while breakfast remains the same. Bus routes remain unchanged from last year.

School Board Election

Jonesboro ISD will hold an Election for Board Trustee in November. State regulations require unincorporated cities hold elections at the same time as general elections in November. Three Jonesboro ISD trustees have expired terms in November.

An application for a place on the ballot may be obtained from Gail Miller, Business Manager, Jonesboro Independent School District beginning July 27, 2008. Last day to file for a place on the general election ballot is August 26, 2008.
