Each summer I spend a week at the VATAT Professional Developement Conference. My professional association provides it’s ag teachers with opportunities to gain knowledge of ALL areas of Agriculture, as well as, programs within the Texas FFA Association.
I am married to Mike, and he is also and Ag Teacher. We have three children between us; Dax (22), Darci (17), and Kenny (13). We also have our “dog kids.” We enjoy raising Miniature Austrailian Shephards. We currently have one red-tri male names Gus, a black tri female named Josie, and a red merle female named Sophie.
I am married to my best friend and soul mate and we LOVE our jobs! My goal in life to give each student that I come in contact an opportunity to find something within themselves to be successful.
Each year that I teach I learn more and more about our wonderful industry. I advocate for agriculture daily, and I believe that teaching young people about our industry will keep agriculture alive.
I have over 10 years of experience with today’s stock show industry. It is ever changing, and sometimes that it is yearly. I am here to help our students be successful. My passion is the stock show industry because I believe that an animal of any kind can bring out something within a young person that nothing else can. Over the past 10-12 years I have made several contacts that have become family friends, and I believe that with my assistance your students will be more successful than ever.
When my husband and I are not teaching we love to listen to live music. It is an industry that we are very passionate about. Two of our favorite places to be are Gruene and Luckenbach. We also LOVE to spend hours driving and looking at show prospects of all species, hoping that we find the next champion!
We have a small flock of medium wool club lamb ewes. We enjoy being able to raise lambs each year, and we love that we can place those with students to be shown. The quality of our lambs has grown at a great rate over the past three years, and we are very happy with our progress.
We have three children, two that are still in school and one that has graduated. Our two youngest spend a LARGE amount of time in their barn that is full of show lambs and show pigs. We love that they have inhereitied our competative nature and LOVE to be successful!
