Jonesboro ISD competed this last weekend at the district academic UIL meet. 19 students competed with 11 advancing to regionals. Jacyee Redden is an alternate for accounting The account team is also an alternate for accounting. The team consisted of Jaycee Redden, DeMarcus Acoff, Emma Rodriguez and Brayden Ashby. Brayden Ashby, Pate Foote, Truett Foote, and Hunter Beaty competed in calculator applications Leonella Rodriguez placed first in copy editing advancing to regionals. Hunter Beaty also completed in the event and is an alternate. Sierra Chapman is an alternate for feature writing. Emma Rodriguez is an alternate for headline writing. The literary criticism team consisting of Pate Foote, Sierra Chapman, Peyton Williamson, and Truett Foote won the event advancing to regionals. Pate Foote took first while Sierra Chapman placed third, Peyton Williamson placed fifth and Truett Foote placed seventh. The mathematics team is the alternate to regionals. Luke Maxwell placed first and Chase Janke placed fourth. To complete the team were Truett and Pate Foote. Luke Maxwell once again won number sense and the team advanced. Truett Foote placed fifth and completing the team were DeMarcus Acoff and Chase Janke. Emma Rodriguez advanced in poetry interpretation. Jaycee Redden won prose interpretation. Leonella Rodriguez advanced in ready writing, while Reanna Fincher and Peyton Williamson are alternates. Leonella Rodriguez also won the social studies contest and the team consisting of Luke Stephenson, Michella Martinez, and Jaycee Redden are alternates. Reanna Fincher won the spelling contest and Layden Nichols is an alternate. The team also consisting of Hunter Beaty and Luke Stephenson are the alternates to complete at regionals. Luke Maxwell, Kyson Smith, Pate Foote, Truett Foote, Chase Janke and Maggie Gillis complete in the science competition. Pate is an alternate for the physics scores. Good job everyone!
