Attention all mini cheer campers! This is your week to shine!!!
This Friday at the Jonesboro Eagles versus May mini cheer campers will be invited to join the Varsity cheer team at the pep rally Friday morning at 8:50am and then again at the game during 2nd quarter.
Good morning! Attached are results from the district meet last week. Our runners performed very well, with the Junior High Girls winning the district title for the 2nd consecutive year, and the High School Girls team finishing 3rd and qualifying for regionals!
Luke Forrest and Lynlee Deats were district champions in the junior high boys and girls divisions respectively. Clancy Archie medaled for the second consecutive year by finishing 7th in the junior high boys division, and Champ Cox also medaled, finishing 9th in the junior high boys division.
Landri McFarlin, Campbell Gustin, Paige Glenn and Kylie Gould all medaled in the junior high girls division, finishing 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th. Adison Lopez and Lacy Weaver rounded out the junior high girls team, finishing just outside the top 10.
Jacob Young qualified for regionals in the high school boys division by finishing 10th overall. Carson Garvin and Hunter Beaty narrowly missed a trip to regionals, finishing 11th and 12th.
In the high school girls division, Madison Manning was our top finisher, placing 5th overall, followed by Alissa Shumate, who finished 10th. Payten Manning, Adalyna Andrade, Peyton Williamson, and Rachel Pruett all had strong finishes, contributing to the 3rd place team finish and helping earn the trip to regionals for the team.

Cancer awareness week!!!
Don’t forget Monday, October 10th is a staff and student holiday.
Reminder, mini cheer camp will be tomorrow morning from 9-10:30.
Registration opens at 8:45 in the front lobby of the high school. Parents will need to sign their mini cheerleader in with Mrs. Barnett.
The parent pep rally, where the mini cheerleaders will show off their skills, will begin at 10:15am, followed by presentation of certificates.
Mini cheerleaders will be invited to cheer with the Varsity cheerleaders during the October 28th pep rally, and then again at the game that evening during second quarter.

Parents please be aware that all visitors need to check in at the front office. We understand that this an inconvenience, especially at lunch, but for the safety of our students it is necessary.
YEARBOOKS are here!
Books will be going home tomorrow with students who placed orders. If your student ordered but we did not receive payment the yearbook will be held until payment is made. If there are any issues with a order please email Mrs. Sellers and we will get it corrected.
Once all yearbooks are passed out we will make an announcement to sell all extra we have. This sale will be first come, first serve and we will not hold any without payment.
Football shirt order forms will go home with grades PK-8 today. High school students may pick up their forms in the office.
Please turn in to Mrs.Sellers or the office by October 12, 2022
Lifetouch Fall Pictures/Proofs will be coming home today with students grades PK-9 as well as seniors. We are still waiting on grades 10 & 11.
If there are any issues with photos the fastest way to get things corrected is to call Lifetouch directly. Information for Lifetouch customer service is listed on their website.
Fall retakes will be on Friday, November 11, 2022.
Please help JISD, under the direction of Makaylie Williams, bring awareness to all the different types of cancers that can effect our community.
During the week of October 10th we ask staff and students to wear a different color each day and learn about many forms of cancers.
Thank you Miss Williams for all your hard work promoting Cancer Awareness Weeks throughout our county. Your drive is admirable!
